Abstract;This paper presents excellent buffer performance of a KTS coupling which is a flexible buffer shaft coupling. The following are described: Features of the coupling and functions, use results, the contents of measurement that was conducted, and the evaluations. This coupling eased an impact in power transmission from a driving shaft to a driven shaft through an elastic body. A coiled spring was built in as an elastic body. Buffer performance of this coupling was quantitatively evaluated by conducting tests, and by digitizing them. Excellent performance of this coupling was confirmed by comparing the test results with those of 4 types of general-purpose shaft couplings.
