Abstract;When a protein functions, time-dependently changing phenomena occur with some actions. It is important to clarify the structure by grasping specific state where a protein actually functions in order to truly understand the phenomena. Usual crystal structure analysis, however, can obtain only spatiotemporally averaged image of all molecules in a crystal. Time-resolved X-ray crystallogrphic analysis can fill the gap. This article briefly introduces its techniques and advantages, and describes authors' research on obtaining pre-reactive enzyme structure by using one of the techniques,Laue diffraction method.
