Abstract;In this paper,we show how we developed amphibious snake-like robot "ACM-R5." It is effective to use ACM (Active Cord Mechanism) for the disaster relief activities because of its higher potential of mobility in the narrow space and on the weak ground and the possibility of using body as a hand.But until now there is no effective practical application of ACM,for some reasons.We will contribute to the practical use of ACM by developing the amphibious ACM that has waterproofing structure and torque limiter at the joint.
