Abstract;This paper describes an autonomous mobile robot "SmartPal". The robot has 7-DOF(degrees-of freedom) dual arm unit, and 3-DOF omni-directional wheel drive unit. We call these independent functional units "RT(Robot Technology) Units". RT Units can make easy to reconfigure or customize robots, in line with the variuos user requirements. (author abst.)
