Abstract;Clarithromycin dry syrup (CAM-DS) was very bitter tasting when taken simultaneously with MUCODYNE Dry Syrup (MUCODYNE-DS). The bitterness of CAM-DS mixed with MUCODYNE-DS was not suppressed even when these drugs were taken with tea, orange juice, milk, or the other drinks. The bitterness of CAM-DS was suppressed when MUCODYNE-DS was taken first with sufficient quantity of water and a while after CAM-DS was taken. The bitterness of CAM-DS was further suppressed when taken after MUCODYNE-DS and after intervals of more than 20 minutes. These results suggest that MUCODYNE-DS should be taken first, and after sufficient intervals before CAM-DS should be taken, when prescribed concomitantly. (author abst.)
