| Abstract;Quantitative traits loci (QTL) analysis within Duroc breed on the seventh chromosome for meat production and meat quality traits was executed. As for this seventh chromosome, siginificant QTL region about intramuscular fat has been previously reported. The polymorphism of 12 microsatellite markers that were arranged at about 20cM intervals was investigated about 1004 pigs. Significant region of QTL for intramuscular fat was not detected by QTL analysis using the data corrected with BLUE. Therefore, it was suggested that the QTL dose not exist in the seventh chromosome related to intramuscular fat. However, significantly maximum LOD was detected in 70cM region about loin eye muscle area (EM). This suggests that the QTL analysis within breed was effective using the population of line breeding of pigs. However, the heritability of QTL was 0.07, and the heritability by polygene except the effect of QTL was 0.46. Further QTL analysis is necessary to search the region about other chromosomes related intramuscular fat. (author abst.) |
