Abstract; We investigated the antimicrobial effects of 2-aminophenoxazine-3-one (Phx-3), which was produced by the reaction of bovine hemoglobin with o-aminophenol on various species of helicobacter pylori and clamydia pneumoniae. Phx-3 inhibited the proliferation of these bacteria extensively. Phx-3 seems to be a good antibiotic to treat helicobacter pylori, which causes stomach ulcer, and clamydia pneumoniae, which is considered to be involved in the mechanism of the atherosclerotic lesion.
