| Abstract;This paper describes the regional forest plan of Hokkaido Abashiri east, with focus on the target for the improvement and preservation of forests and planned items. Designated areas are as follows: Afforestation plan; 19,785 ha, thinning; 59,582 ha, forest road establishment; 90.1 km, appointment of protection forest; 36,168 ha, and erosion control work; 39 districts. The following measures for achiving the project are described: (1) Fostering of core forest corporations, (2) cooperation between upstream areas and downstream areas, (3) restructuring of the wood industry, (4) utilization promotion of lumber from thinning. |
