| Abstract; We examined the efficacy of the Itraconazole pulse therapy for tinea unguinum and utility of SCIO SCORE. All patients received 400mg/day of Itraconazole for 7 days every 4 weeks. It went by three cycles in total. Clinical efficacy rate was judged in six months, subsequently we also considered the correlation of SCIO SCORE and clinical efficacy rate. Clinical efficacy rate were almost 100 % at the group who have less than 20 point of SCIO SCORE (9/9). On the other hand, invalid cases increased in 20 points or more. Especially, 50 % of patient whose point were maximum (30 point), did not get clinical improvement at all (2/4). SCIO SCORE was thought that it could predict therapeutic efficacy in part. Enough explanation to the patient may be necessary when we expected that an effective rate would be low. (author abst.) |
