| Abstract;Assessment of pain is a first step for appropriate pain relief. In the early assessment, cause and intensity of pain or the negative impact of pain on daily life are analysed. The efficacy and side-effects of pain therapy are assesed to reevaluate treatment policy. Pain assessment often requires participation of doctors as well as nurses. Keeping in mind necessary evaluation items and patient's psychological tendency towards avoiding expression of pain they are feeling is important. |
