Abstract; The paper describes opioids with particular focus on morphine, oxycodone, and fentanyl that have high affinity with mu opioid receptor. Side-effects of opioids can appear as a pharmacologic action in which opiods bond with opioid receptors. Some symptoms are difficult to identify as side-effects of opiods as underlying diseases or change in general condition of patients can have significant influence. Drug property or design can influence the incidence and type of side-effects.
