Abstract;Subarachnoid analgesia produces potent anesthetic action over motor nerve in the spinal cord. Spinal subarachnoid anesthesia with local anesthetics is widely used in surgery of lower limb and abdomen. Prolonged subarachnoid analgesia combining subarachnoid analgesia with local anesthetics and opioids is used in control of cancer pain. Subarachnoid analgesia by neurolytic agents is performed on patients with pain deriving from malignant tumor. It is drawing attention as a new and effective method against cancer pain.
