Abstract;Surgical treatment of metastatic spinal tumor is aimed at improving patients' QOL through pain relief and alleviation of paralysis. Total en bloc spondylectomy, spinal decompression, sacral resection, and posterior stabilization are available surgeries. A patient's strong will for survival and his/her sufficient energy to withstand the stress of general anesthesia are critical for surgery on spinal metastasis. Patients' general state, number of bone and spinal metastasis, metastasis to major organis, type of primary lesion, and paralysis were taken into consideration.
