| Abstract;About 15% of cancer pain resists existing therapies based on opioids, and requires neurosurgery. Palliative care that is safe and less invasive is now becoming availabe thanks to advancement of MRI, computer technology, and microsurgery. Pituitary alcohol injection is employed for cancer pain management. Stereotactic irradiation of pituitary gland with gamma knife has been reported to remove cancer pain with little invasion. Intraspinal drug delivery is essential for alleviation of various pain that resists treatment. |
