| Abstract;Research and development related to the renewal or conversion of existing buildings have been actively pursued in the hope of making effective use of older buildings as social capital. In the research project, the following research subjects on the renewal technique for existing building were executed; i) Evaluation on seismic performance of the building after making an opening on shear wall or slab, ii) Techniques for strengthening to an opening on shear wall, iii) Techniques for upgrading seismic performance of buildings by additional external frame, etc. iv) Base isolation system (suitable for installing on existing column-top), v) Calculation technique for the renewal cost considering lifecycle of building. Furthermore some renewal plans of middle-rise and high-rise model buildings were proposed using the research fruits. (author abst.) |
