Abstract; This report contains three research topics related to structural response control system for building structures. Firstly, a shaking table test of base isolation building using sliding bearing is reported with respect to the adhesion property and the simulation analysis. Secondly, a new seismic isolation system which is composed of two layers with a magneto-rheological fluid (MR) damper on each layer will be reported. We design a gain-scheduled controller based on H.INF.control theory, as applied in the semi-active seismic isolation system installed a multi-degree-of-freedom structure. By using the new seismic isolation system and dividing the roles into two layers, it was verified that the new system is superior to the traditional one and the gain-scheduled controller designed is effective for seismic isolation. Lastly, a semi-active isolation system with Magneto-Rheological fluid damper was tested with 3 story, base isolated steel specimen on 3D shaking table for semi-active control. (author abst.)
