| Abstract;Carburizing is an essential case-hardening for industrial machines with a history of more than 50 years. The carburizing technology has improved over the years, starting from solid carburizing, liquid carburizing and to gas carburizing that is the current leading method. Conversely, vacuum carburizing has been improved for the past ten years and its application has been expanding because of better quality, greater environmental friendliness and higher productivity than what gas carburizing can offer. With our unique technologies developed for materials, machining tools and components, Nachi has developed the heat treatment technologies such as vacuum, heat treatment and numerical control methods. Then Nachi has ultimately developed the batch-type vacuum carburizing furnace, NVC Series that is applicable to the production of parts for automobiles, construction machines and industrial machines.
