Abstract;A new wave control method is proposed to control the wave direction incoming to harbors by dredging a deep navigation channel with V-shaped cross-section. The effect of the V-channel is examined by means of numerical simulations and hydraulic experiments. The V-channel is shown to be quite effective for minimizing the invasion of waves to the port entrance. (author abst.)
