| Abstract;In recent several years, a broadband communication system with high-speed and large-scale has become general at home on land. Moreover, high-speed Internet access to air travelers in airplane became possible since May 2004. In Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, authors started a joint project called 'Maritime Broadband Communication Project' since 2002 that has aimed at achieving a high-speed and large-scale two-way communication system between ship and shore or ship and ship. For that primary goal, authors developed the construction of its infrastructure and the applications. Several actual experiments on the navigation support system were made from land applying this system. It is necessary to obtain information simultaneously between ship and land to support from land. The experiments were in success on the transmission of the image outside and inside of the ship, on the ship information monitoring to observe the condition of the ship and on remote maneuvering for support.
