| Abstract;'Ko2-go' is a new favabean cultivar with less brown stain symptom, developed at Kagoshima Agricultural Experiment Station in 2004. The cultivar was through the cross between 'Ryosai-issun' and 'Bonotsu-selected line' in 1993. A selected promising line was named 'Kou2-gou' at the F6 generation in 1999. This variety has the same pod and grain size of 'Ryosai-issun', and these shapes and colors are almost same. This variety has the same level of plant growth, but stem length is slightly longer than that of 'Ryosai-issun'. This variety has the same total yield, flowering period, yielding period and number of pods of 'Ryosai-issun' also. However, the incidence of brown stain symptom is lower than those of 'Ryosai-issun', 'Hausu-ryosai' and 'Ibusuki-selected line'. 'Ko2-go' can be grown in a region from South-Satsuma peninsula area to Tane-Yaku Island area of Japan for cropping of winter-spring yielding type. (author abst.) |
