| Abstract;Glossopharyngeal nerve block is used for treatment and differential diagnosis of glossopharyngeal neuralgia and for treatment of pain in pharynx and laryngeal part. The block can be carried out by intraoral approach and by insertion of a block needle from lateral neck. In intraoral approach, local anesthetic is sprayed, applied, injected to arcus palatini, tonsil, and posterior part of tongue. The insertion of a block needle from lateral neck is used for pain clinic. A block needle is inserted from external auditory foramen. Local anesthetic is used. Use of neurolytic drug is limited. |
