Abstract;Epidural block is to block spinal nerves by injecting drug solution into epidural space. Pain in lower extremity is the most frequent treated disease in pain clinic. Lumbar epidural block is one of important nerve blocks. Careful oral consultation and an appropriate diagnosis are required. When patients feel desensitization in lower extremity and elimination of muscle weakness 60 to 90 minutes after the block, patients are allowed to rise from a bed. Although the occurrence of serious adverse effect is rare, blood pressure drop is the most frequent adverse effect. Epidural block has a risk causing various complications.
