| Abstract;Superficial cervical plexus block and deep cervical plexus block are effective for pain in cervical nerves. They are used for outpatients. Deep cervical plexus block may cause various complications, and sufficient followup is required 30 to 60 minutes after the block. In superficial cervical plexus block, local anesthetic is hard to spread along sternocleidomastoideus. A needle tip is tilted for a head to obtain infiltration in skin. Deep cervical plexus block is applied for cervical spondylosis, cervical disc herniation, cervicobrachial syndrome, traumatic cervical syndrome, herpes zoster, and postherpetic neuralgia. Superficial cervical plexus block is applied for the diagnosis of superficial pain. |
