| Abstract;Japan Fine Ceramics Center (JFCC) has been studying to establish reference materials for thermophysical properties in collaboration with National Metrology Institute of Japan. Polycrystalline alumina "REFERCERAM AL1" developed by the JFCC has been studied as a candidate of thermal diffusivity reference materials. It was experimentally confirmed that REFERCERAM AL1 is homogeneous and stable enough to be used as a reference material. Two specimens were measured twice in the temperature range from R.T. to 1000K and the reference equation of thermal diffusivity was determined. Uncertainty of the reference equation was evaluated based on "Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM)". We started to supply a thermal diffusivity reference material named "TD-AL" (Al2O3) in 1998. Moreover, we have been studying reference materials for thermophysical properties of coatings.
