Abstract;The aqueous solutions of ammonia are expected to be used as not only working fluids for absorption refrigerators, but also working fluids for bottoming cycles of steam power plants, and other heat recovering systems. Therefore, the thermodynamic properties of this substance are required in the wide rang of temperatures and pressures. The present pVTx property measurements were conducted in the range of temperatures from 295K to 308K, pressures up to 17.17MPa, densities from 818kg/m'3' to 825kg/m'3', and compositions of around 50mol% aqueous solution of ammonia. For these experimental data, the deviations of measured densities from the equation of state by Tillner-Roth and Friend are within .+-.0.1%, and the present data agree well with the data by Harm-Watzenberg in the same range of temperatures as shown in Figures 2 and 3. The bubble point temperatures and pressures are also obtained based on the present data as shown in Table 3. (author abst.)
