Abstract; The experimental apparatus for the surface tension with the differential capillary-rise method was modified in order to measure the surface tension for alcohol aqueous solutions under closed system as well as high-pressure system. Two improvements for the experimental apparatus were carried out. One is the modification of the capillary stand to prevent the sample from falling onto the capillary. Another is the modification of the sample vessel for the new sample loading system. In order to confirm the reliability of the experimental apparatus modified, the surface tension of water was measured. It is found that the measurement for the contact angle between the glass capillary and water is very important. (author abst.)
