Abstract;Model experiment and numerical analysis results on the controls by the electromagnetic force and the elucidation of mixed phase behavior at continuous casting process are shown. The numerical analysis employs the multi-purpose fluid analysis code, FLUENT VOF model and the dispersed phase model for the fluid, and the computational program for computing electro-magnetic fields that is developed separately are combined. The model experiments and numerical analyses are conducted for example on the ladle slag flowing behavior at the final stage of pouring of mixed phases of metal and slag, the behavior of argon gas at nozzles with the co-existence of metal and gas, and that in molds, and the initial stage of solidification of meniscus in a mold with mixture of metal, and fused slag, and possible controlling methods are explained. Remaining tasks are proposed to be the measurement techniques for deciding the boundary conditions like the bubble diameters, the analysis of the second phase under the existence of turbulent flow and electromagnetic forces, and stable analysis method for phase changes like solidification.
