| Abstract;Dry distillation experiments are conducted in a coke oven with mixtures of cedar timber and wood chip powder for obtaining basic material balance data of wood-origin biomass to be distilled in a coke oven. The results obtained are that 1)the material balance at the dry distillation is the gaseous component to be 22.5%, liquid 51.7%, and the residue 25.8%, that 2) the composition of the gaseous component is H2 15.1vol.%,CO 30.9%,CO2 33.8vol%,others, that 3) the main liquid component is alcohol and phenols, and that 4) at the thermal decomposition experiments, the glass transition assumed to be the changes by dissociation of hydrogen bonds of -between OH group is observed. The changes are irreversible, and the possibility for the biomass reforming by pre-heat treatment is suggested. |
