Abstract; The titled system that has been developed and utilized at Kakogawa Steel Works is explained. The coke ovens are much over-aged with deformation of the furnace bodies, damages, and carbon depositions causing the actual volume of constituent cells is different. Thus, for attaining suitable supply of coal to each cell, coal measurement system for returning coal is moved from the belt conveyor position in front of the coke oven to the lower part of the pusher. By this rearrangement, the returned coal at leveling operation is returned to a hopper, and the quantity is measured by a load cell for controlling charged coal to each cell to be possible. The contents of the system and the effects are explained.
