| Abstract; The estimation method of the temperature level at the lower part of a blast furnace at the start-up operation is investigated, which has been rather difficult. The estimation method of the temperature levels is established by the SiO(g)index derived from the Si O(g) generation rate from coke ash, temperature of molten iron, Si content in the molten iron, and tapped iron weight. The SiO (g) generation range index is defined by the procedure stated above. The furnace bottom temperature level estimation method is derived from the defined slag temperature that is derived from Mn% in molten iron based on the assumption of Mn-C-O equilibrium, slag composition, and blast pressure. These indices are used for measuring the SiO(g) generation range index and the computed slag temperature changes at No.2 blast furnace at Oita Iron and Steel Works from the start-up, and the effectiveness of the method is confirmed. |
