Abstract;Wetting between molten steel added with various alloying elements like Al, Ti, Mn, and Nb, and various kinds of oxide like Al2O3,and MgO are measured. The experiments are conducted by placing a test sample on a Mo plate placed in an induction heater with an oxide substrate, and the contact angle between the substrate and the metal drop is measured after the drop solidifies, and the melting behavior is observed by a CCD camera. The results obtained show that the reaction products formed by the reaction is most important for the wetting phenomenon.
