Abstract; Two kinds of coke are manufactured by a small dry distilling furnace for clarifying the relation between the local structure of coke and various characteristics of coke. Coke pieces are taken out of a bulky coke, and the pieces are embedded in resin molds for polishing. The polished surfaces are observed and analyzed by SEM-EDS. The newly developed method can assist in sampling coke locally, and the carbon structure analysis is conducted.
