| Abstract;Magnesia-carbon clinker refractory is employed as a lining material for a converter. For clarifying the wear of the refractory, the dissolution mechanism of solid to a solution containing bubbles is studied. Thus, a naphthalene cylindrical sample is prepared, and immersed in an electrolyte consisting of ethanol and sulfuric acid, and rotated. Hydrogen bubbles are generated from surfaces of Pt electrode wire embedded in the naphthalene sample with a hole of 1 mm diameter by electrolytic decomposition. The observation results reveal that when a bubble dispatches from a fine pore, the solution lean with the solute flows around the bubble, to accelerate the dissolution of the solid around the pore. |
