Abstract; In vein certification systems, the difference of distance between a hand and a camera, translation gaps, rotation gaps, and slants of the vein surface with the camera optical axis are problems. These position errors are corrected using log-polar mapping. We allocate the vein image so that a characteristic point becomes a center in the image at preprocessing, and execute translation for fine-tuning at the correction process. All corrections are integrated into three operations. The computational complexity for rotation by log-polar mapping is compared with a method using an affine transform. Herein, we describe our vein certification system using log-polar mapping. (author abst.)
