Abstract;X-ray image brightness reflects an object's thickness, density, atomic number, and so on. Therefore, an object's weight can be estimated using this property. It is, however, difficult to obtain a corresponding relationship. The result will be unstable based on the object's thickness, if the relationship is defined with an exponential function, as it is generally represented. We developed an algorithm to optimize the relationship function, providing for a result undisturbed by the object's condition. In this paper, we propose the method and report experimental results. Moreover, we mention the advantages and limitations of verifying an object's weight using an X-ray image. (author abst.)
