Abstract; The case was in a 21-year-old woman, the face swelled, and there were edematous erythemas in both buccal regions. Red papules and pustules were scattered around the mouth. There was slight jaundice in the bulbar conjunctiva. Buccal lymph node swelled. The treatment by internal and external use of antibiotics was received in vain, and internal use of lectisol (DDS) by 50mg/day was started. However, since the liver function deteriorated further and erythemas reached the whole-body, she was introduced to the dermatological dept. of Fukui Univ. medical school. There was no special medical history and allergical history. From the symptom, EBV infection and cytomegalovirus infection were considered as the differentiating diseases. DDS syndrome is often generated after 5-6 weeks from DDS dosage, and dermatitis, hepatitis, splenohepatomegaly, jaundice, lymph node enlargement, and eosinophilia appearance are generated. The above case was diagnosed as DDS syndrome from the characteristic progress. After the consultation with the hepatic medicine in our hospital, pulse therapy with methylprednisolone 500mg/day was started by the hospitalization. After the medical treatment by steroid, fever fell rapidly, and skin symptom and hepatic disorder were improved. At present, with only skin care, there is no recurrence of acne and the progress is good. However, there is no insurance application to acne of DDS. In the other side effects by DDS, there are methemoglobinemia, hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, hepatic disorder, renal disturbance, gastrointestinal disorder and SLE-like symptom.
