Abstract;Solar radiation is a vital energy source both on the earth and in space. Storing technology of the energy holds the key to full utilization since the power density of solar radiation is usually lower than human demand and needs to be redistributed both in space and time. The authors are developing a system of technologies combining solar pumped lasers and magnesium energy cycle. Basic requirements of the energy cycle and present status of research and developments will be described. (author abst.)
